Concert Brass was set up in January 1994 and rehearses at The Band Centre, Poynton on Monday evenings from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. There is a £1.00 weekly subscription.
This is not a 'learner' band and we aim to attract players of good quality who find they cannot give their time to a busy contesting/engagement calendar. Contests are not envisaged and only two or three concerts are offered each year. The band quite simply aims to enjoy a good standard of music making for its own sake.
We have some twenty players, so there are a few vacancies. In particular we are currently looking for:
- Principal Cornet
- Solo Cornet
- Second Baritone
- Bb Bass player.
We may be able to accommodate other players.
Whilst members are expected to provide their own instruments we do happen to have a good Bb Bass available.
