Concert Brass (Poynton)

Concert Brass (Poynton) is a subsidiary of the Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band and both bands operate under the aegis of the Poynton Brass Band Trust.

Concert Brass was set up in January 1994 and rehearses at The Band Centre, 220 Park Lane Poynton , SK12 1RQ on Wednesday evenings from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.

Members all pay weekly subs as determined in January each year (currently £1.00).

This is not a 'learner' band and we aim to attract players of good quality who find they cannot give their time to a busy contesting/engagement calendar.

Contests are not part of our activities and usually, we only play at three concerts each year (spring, autumn and Christmas) plus one other Christmas Carolling evening.

The band quite simply aims to enjoy a good standard of music making for its own sake.

We currently have a few vacancies. In particular we are looking for:

• Front Row Cornet
• Back Row Cornet
• Basses

Whilst members are required to provide their own instruments we do have available some good Soveriegn basses.
