Probably Poynton’s most renowned choir, St George’s Singers will be bringing the celebration weekend to a close with a concert featuring a range of music from their extensive repertoire. St George’s Singers was established in 1956 and are so-named because they rehearsed at St George’s church in Poynton – and still do. Now recognised as one of the finest choral groups in north-west England, they will be performing alongside the Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band at this special Jubilee concert for us as part of the Poynton Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
