Owain Hughes
Solo Cornet

Owain started playing the cornet at the age of 8 and was first taught by his father. Soon after, he joined the Radyr and Morganstown (Melingriffith) Band (now City of Cardiff Brass) on 3rd cornet and progressed by the age of 14 to the front row.

At the age of 16 he was asked to join the BTM Band and jumped at the chance of playing in one of the best bands in Wales!

Soon after, he decided to move to Salford to study music under Dr. David King at the University there and subsequently joined Besses o’th Barn Band in 2005 on the front row, from there, he moved to repiano cornet.

He joined VBS Poynton Band in the summer of 2007 and is enjoying every minute of it.
