Ray
Booth
President
Ray
joined the band in 1948 playing tenor horn. Unfortunately,
his playing career was cut short in 1987 (some 39 years service),
when he had to retire due to ill health. (His eye sight deteriorated
rapidly with a rare and incurable problem).
He
became a trustee of the band in 1980 and soon after his retirement
from playing became the bands President.
Anyone
committed for over 50 years to any organization commands the
respect and admiration of all involved. We, the members of
the band, are no exception.
Ray
supports the band in all it's endeavors and travels the length
and breadth of the country supporting our concerts. He even
travels with us on our continental tours.
Ray
is a loyal and valued member of the VBS Poynton Brass Band.
His work for the band is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ray!
