I started playing with VBS Poynton at the end of 2017. I started life as a cornet player, giving up when I went to university. Fairly new to the brass band life, I decided to put my tap dancing skills to good use and start playing percussion.

I haven’t really played that many test pieces but so far my favourite would have to be Paganini Variations, and my favourite concert piece is controversially Gaelforce, because who doesn’t love a percussion team feature and lots of rainstick!

My brass banding story is quite short at the moment but the highlight so far is definitely playing with VBS and getting to compete in a Championship section area.
